An Elegant Vespers
THE SHOW:
The San Antonio
Choral
Society's
final concert of its 44th season.
THE CROWD:
250
FIRST TAKE:
When the Choral Society performs Mozart's Vespers at
Carnegie Hall next week, the group should represent
the Alamo City well at least if Sunday's performance
of the work was any indication. The singers brought
majesty and elegance to one of the most beloved
works in the choral canon. Soprano soloist Carlyn
White was sublime, particularly in the Laudate
Dominum.
BRAVO BRASWELL:
Tenor Donald Braswell, known for his turn on
television's "America's Got Talent," performed four
songs to close the first half, demonstrating the
range and showmanship he is heralded for. - Jennifer
